SwissQuote’s sales and marketing director, described as Switzerland’s largest online bank, revealed that the bank intends to launch a crypto exchange by the first half of 2022.
The senior official added that the bank pursues the following goals with regard to the exchange:
- Become the premier provider of digital assets
- Offer exchanges for a wide variety of cryptocurrencies
- Add Stable Coins and Staking to Its List of Crypto Offerings
The bank already supports a wide variety of cryptocurrencies – 24 in total – including major coins like BTC, ETH, and Solana. However, the list also includes less famous coins, such as:
- Augur
- Beef
- Yearn.finance
- piece of money
- Tezos
The biggest push to start an exchange is informed by the success the bank has had with its crypto services. For example, in the first half of 2021, the company’s net income from crypto investments grew by over 1000%.
Its net income from crypto investments is said to have increased by more than 1,000% to reach 63.2 million Swiss francs in the first half of 2021 – part of the success that saw it increase its workforce.
Officials at the bank report that its compliance and customer service teams have been overwhelmed with keen interest.
